How a BusyBunny user opts in to text messaging

Text messaging is optional. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of signing up, of any purchase, or of using BusyBunny. A person opts in only by ticking an optional, unticked box when they sign up with their number, or by texting us themselves from the app's Link a phone screen. This page shows both screens with their exact consent text and the exact texts the number sends.

The first exchange, HELP, and STOP as sent by the number

The opt-in flow

Texting is optional in every path. A person who never opts in can sign up, pay, and use every feature in the app and on the web.

  1. Sign-up with a mobile number (busybunny.ai/start). The form shows one optional checkbox, unticked by default and not required to continue. Ticking "I agree to receive text messages from BusyBunny about my account and requests" is the consent event: we record the time, the number, and the version of the consent text shown. Left unticked, the number gets only the one sign-in code it asked for, to confirm it is theirs; no welcome text, no replies, nothing after that.
  2. In the app (Settings → Messaging → Link a phone). An optional feature for a signed-in user. The screen shows the consent text above (with its version) and a one-time 6-digit code valid for 10 minutes. The user texts LINK <code> to +1 (877) 806-3214 from their own phone. This inbound text is the consent event. We record the time, the number, and the version of the consent text shown.
  3. After opting in, the number sends one confirmation message. From then on, the user only receives one-to-one replies to their own texts, approval requests for actions they asked the assistant to take, and the notifications and briefings they turned on for that number.
  4. STOP ends all messages immediately; START resumes; HELP returns the help text. The user can also unlink the number in the app.
  5. A number that texts us without linking gets one reply explaining how to link (and how to opt out), never anything else.
